PEORIA – The Peoria Firefighters Charities will be hosting its annual “Fire it Up” charity car show on Sunday December 5th 2021 9:00am-1:00pm at the Peoria Sports Complex 16101 N 83rd Ave, Peoria, AZ 85382 in the EAST parking lot located just off Paradise Ln/East of 83rd Ave.
You do NOT need to pre-register your car to come to the show. The car show will feature modern cars and trucks to classics, fire apparatus, motorcycles, and custom bicycles. The Peoria Fire-Medical Department’s original fire truck, a 1929 Chevy, will also be on display. They will also be collecting unwrapped toys for the annual toy drive.
This FREE family event will include a Kids Zone with bouncy house, corn hole, giant Jenga, carnival style games for kids, and a Home Depot kids workshop. In addition, there will be local food, coffee, and ice cream vendors.
The best in show award is named after retired Peoria Fire-Medical Captain Dave Rehnke. Captain Rehnke passed away January 2021 from a 10 year battle with occupational cancer. This will be the first Fire It Up charity car show with the “Best in Show” award named “ David Rehnke Memorial Best in Show”
One hundred percent of the funds raised by this event go back into the community. The Peoria Firefighters Charities pays for students to go to burn camp and diabetes camp. They host events for senior citizens and the Special Olympics, provide swim lessons for low income children, organize school reading programs, and have the annual Johnny Valentine scholarship program for high school seniors going to college.
